The Linguist Manager will expand and maintain the company?s database of good value linguists. The Linguist Manager will aim to reduce translation costs within established quality assurance parameters, by ensuring a competitive average level of translators\' prices for the Project Managers, through various means:
? Recruiting linguists (finding, testing and negotiating with new translators) for both general requests and needs as well as for emergency situations and tight deadlines;
? Ensuring that we extract maximum value from our existing resources;
? Identifying language combinations where there are opportunities to use less expensive translators and recruiting such translators;
? Ensuring that all translators have an up to date profile page;
? Ensuring that all translators have up to date and accurate price information;
? Recruit and act on tasks coming in from the management promptly and efficiently.
? University degree, preferably in languages, and ideally involving English;
? Excellent spoken and written English;
? Excellent computer literacy (MS Office, Internet, Email, typing). Experience of translation technology (e.g. Trados etc.) would be a small advantage;
? Excellent organisational and negotiation skills. Should be friendly, level-headed, self-motivated, independent, trustworthy, ambitious, committed and a very strong team player;
? Passion for languages and accuracy in translation. Experience as a translator or in the translation industry would be an advantage;
? Ability to work under pressure, against deadlines and to think in perspective in problem solving situations;
? Experience dealing with customers in English (and other languages).
Salary: Will depend on experience, but will be competitive and rewarding.
