ROLE SUMMARY
Technical lead & detailed designer for all aspects of the Roaming solution.
Responsibilities
1. Work closely with the Mediation team (most of the roaming processing is on the mediation platform).
2. Liaise with our Data Clearing House to design the changes and updates to the format & processing of Roaming related data
3. Assess change requests and defects against the delivered platforms, provide effort estimates, and make changes to code when necessary
4. Out of hours support for Roaming issues.
5. Validate full functional definitions and system designs, which may be produced both internally and externally to the company for end-to-end processes
6. Contribute to the production of project plans through identification of activities & tasks required to achieve successful systems implementation.
7. Communicate effectively with both operational and technical areas of the business.
8. Work closely with Service Delivery team (3rd level support)
9. Work closely with the Test Team

* Hardware / Servers: HP 9000 Server
* Operating System : HP-UX 11i
* Platform Architecture: HP ServiceGuard
* Database (RDBMS): N/A
* Applications/Software/Tools/Packages: Must be a Roaming expert – 3 years experience with TAP & applicable roaming regulations. Intec Intermediate expert (trained in Intermediate up to the advanced CGDC level PLUS at least 1 years experience of Intermediate, and at least 2 years in total Mediation) Good UNIX skills C Programming experience (at least 3 years) 3-4 years Billing/telcos experience UNIX based code configuration management (e.g. RCS)
* Software / Systems Development Life-cycle: Full Life cycle experience including Systems Analysis, Design, Build, Test & Implementation
* Development Tools, Languages: C programming; UNIX Shell
* Structured Development Methodologies: UML & Waterfall
* Industry Knowledge: Mobile GSM/3G billing. Must have 3 years at least TAP/Roaming experience

Person Specification
* Experience of Telecommunications Engineering processes and applications, particularly Roaming
* Good knowledge of Pricing, Charging and Billing architecture including all data sources (Nokia MSCs, Alcatel IN SCPs, Nokia Charging Gateway,
* CCC, CMG messaging platforms etc.)
* Experience in dealing with TAP Data Clearing House
* Motivated self-starter, proactive, hard working and able to learn new technical skills quickly
* Strong analytical & problem solving skills
* Strong interpersonal / communication skills
* Capable of interfacing with Clients and User Community
* Effectively predicting, managing and exceeding expectations of Clients and User Community
* Experience of working in matrix managed and multi-project environments
* Ability to work effectively at different levels of the organisation
* Multiple Project environment & full Development Project life-cycle experience
* Experience of enterprise start-up or green-field environments
